Advanced Single / Split Peak
The advanced single / split peak is where the wave gets noticeably bigger and
faster. Designed for capable surfers, this is the first setting where
high-performance shortboards or fishes are recommended. In the split peak
setting, the wave breaks from the middle of the lagoon and emerges from the
caisson wall as one wave going right and one going left. In the single peak
setting, the wave breaks from one end of the lagoon to the other. The takeoff
features a mild whitewater crumble to help get the surfer in early. Once the
wave starts to peel, it travels at a much faster pace than the lower-level
waves, with a steep face from start to finish for strong, fluid, powerful turns.

WAVE OVERVIEW
The advanced single / split peak is the level where guests can perform more technical maneuvers. This setting is designed for capable surfers and is the first setting where high- performance shortboards or fishes are recommended. In the split peak, the wave breaks from the middle of the lagoon and emerges from the caisson wall as one wave going right and one going left. In the single peak, the wave breaks from one end of the lagoon to the other. The takeoff features a mild whitewater crumble to help get the surfer in early.
WAVE CHARACTERISTICS
Once the wave starts to peel, it travels at a faster pace than the lower-level waves. The face of the wave is steep from start to finish, allowing for an average of 3 turns and strong. fluid, powerful surfing. The key to maximizing turns is staying close to the pocket from start to finish. The size of the wave is approximately shoulder to head high on an average adult surfer.
WAVE COMPLETION & FLOW
The wave ends at the angled wing wall and requires the surfer to kick out as the wave gets close to the wall. Guests can either paddle back out along the wall or exit the lagoon and walk back around the perimeter of the pool to the middle of the lagoon and rejoin the queue.
SKILL FOCUS
Timing and placement of turns on the wave face, staying close to the pocket, surfing top to bottom, performing top turns in the lip.
